Walking in to the the parents home, Tara, the bride-to-be was sat in the corner of the living room with both feet soaking in cold water ” I got fat ankles Beck! ” Being 7 months pregnant and braving heels for the big day, she held up very well! Believe it or not, Tara and I used to have numerous conversations about growing up to be photographers. So to say the least, it was more than a pleasure to photograph hers and Dewi’s wedding! It was fun, emotional.. and beautiful, and couldn’t thank her enough for letting me be a part of it!
A long but beautiful drive up to Newcastle from West Sussex, I met Johnny and “Sooz” for their wedding. I had previously shot one of the best men’s wedding, so everyone including myself got comfortable with everyone and the surroundings. The bridal suite included 6 bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, and my photographer friend Paul, along with a videographer. Plenty of laughs, glasses of champagne and photographs later, we set off to the church to meet up with Johnny and the two best men. The day was overcast, but warm. It had rained the day before, as we had shot their Engagement shoot at the same venue.
Today started off in a little town called Bedwas. Natalie’s hair was being finalized as I arrived, and sister Carly was having her make up done.
A truly hidden gem in the Vale of Glamorgan, Llenarch Vineyard was the perfect setting for Cara and Nathan.
I made a pinky promise to myself that this year I would finally start my dream of photographing some extreme sports. I started with my very good friend Phil, who I have known many years. Apart from disagreeing on Marvel comics/movies, Phil and I share many interests.. one being the love for extreme sports. Once Phil agreed to be shot coming down hill on his bike, I wasted no time getting out my camera! It was a very tiring day for us both, Phil having to do the same track and jumps over and over, and myself walking up very steep hills after two breaks on my feet, but it was more than worth it!
I had a chance to work with a beanie hat company Big Balls Collective earlier this year to advertise their new winter hat range. They cater for any extreme sports fashion wear and they use designs and colours that are hard to miss! They were even nice enough to send me some merch to keep!
Little Tomas was fed, and awake after sleeping all morning and ready for a few snaps with mum Rebecca. It started so well but after just five minutes he was flat out! We took advantage and changed into a few outfits, positioned him on the sofa and in the arms of Rebecca where I was still able to capture his cuteness and cuddles!
Already in Bristol, I met up with my twin sister Rachel and old friend Natalie at Noah’s Ark where I saw an elephant for the very first time! Amelia and twins, Oliver and Finley played in the park and watched Khan the tiger being fed up close! [it was actually pretty cool!]
Starting off at the Village Hotel in Cardiff, Sarah and ten bridesmaids were preparing themselves for the big day at De Courceys. For a morning in July, none of us were expecting a little rain. On to the ceremony, Adam waited for Sarah to arrive at his side and everyone got emotional, Adam especially! There were more laughs than tears and I was so grateful to have been able to catch it all. The drizzle even managed to stop in time for get some bride and groom shots on the grounds!
Alanah & Morgan I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding of a friend who married on what was so far the hottest day of the year! Although the sun was beaming with 24° in heat, both Alanah and Morgan didn’t even break a sweat! Now, I’d like to say that the ceremony went off without a hitch, but the bride and groom would say otherwise when it came to the registrar announcing Alanah’s name, and Morgans surname incorrectly. But, it seemed to ease the nerves at the ‘alter’ and Alanah and Morgan would giggle with the registrar when she tried during the vows. The venue was the beautiful DeCourceys, located in the peaceful lanes of Pentyrch, where both the ceremony and reception was held. This was a first time for me to photograph at this venue, and fortunately I have another wedding here in just 4 weeks time. It was surrounded by trees and beautiful gardens.. any photographers dream wedding venue! Inside this stunning venue, had a room to suit all! At the front of the venue was the dance room, where the cake, the band and the DJ played a big part with the presentation. An Oriental room […]
Leanne, Nicky & Katelynn I don’t often photograph newborns, but after Leanne gave birth to the beautiful Katelynn, and Nicky had told me about his Hot Toys collection [mostly The Hulk!] I couldn’t resist!
Sammy Boyce Last wedding season, I was lucky enough to photograph a friends wedding at a new venue. Cyfarthfa Castle has the most beautiful grounds, surrounded by gardens, path ways and a lake. Here is where I met Sammy, who brought along her family who was super natural in front of the camera.
Andrea & Lowri Headed out on a busy Bank Holiday Monday to take some shots of Lowri and mam, Andrea in this flower infested forest park.
Jade & Dale Jade and Dale married at one of the most beautiful wedding venues/places in Wales that I have seen so far! Jess and I headed down Swansea a day early to meet up with Jade, Elaine (Jade’s mother) and a few of her friends. We decided to take advantage of the weather and ease some nerves by taking along our camera’s and shooting them on the beach. A week before we chose to shoot an Engagement session so Jade and Dale knew what to expect on their big day. Their stunning son Lucas came along and stole the show at Cefn Onn Park, and showed mum and dad what to do! The day started with the perfect amount of overcast, and a short walk away in a cottage where Jade and her bridal party stayed the night before. Jade wasn’t as nervous as Dale as he walked through the doors of the ceremony room greeting his guests.. he couldn’t keep still! Their wedding day went without a hitch, from start until finish! It was full of laughs, kind words, gorgeous faces and I was lucky enough to be a part of it!
